Isaiah 30:18

Previously God had told me to make an offer on a car and I made the offer and they guy gave me an even better deal - Praise be to God!   For a while I only wanted a Toyota Echo.   I had one last year and loved it.   It has great gas milage, I fit in it well and I just love them.  However the good ones are a bit expensive.  I had my eye on a $4,500 one and I really wanted it.  I tried to figure out how I could somehow afford it.  But God... God had something better.  A few weeks later my mom found one for $2,600 and eventually the owner said the lowest they would go would be $2,200.  Oh, I soo wanted that car.   I prayed about it and longed after that car.  But God... but God had something better.  While driving with my dad one time he mentioned that his friend had a car for sale.  By the description of it, I didn't even want to consider it.  It didn't have low miles (in fact it had more than 250,000 miles), it was a diesel and most of all it wasn't an echo.  But he recommend that I give it a test drive.  So I said okay, since I don't know for sure what God has for me, but I didn't want it.  After driving it for a bit, I wanted it.  My dad's friend let me drive it for a few days and I fell in love with it.  It has awesome gas milage too. However it was way too expensive for me.

I finally, just a few days ago, made an offer on it explaining to the owner that this is all I can afford (I don't even have all the money for it yet) and if he doesn't want to sell it for this low, I completely understand.  The offer I made was half of what he originally thought he would like for the car.  The offer was hundreds less than the book value.  But he accepted the offer - Praise be to God!  But not only that... the owner said to give him only 75% of my offer.  He then said to give the other 25% to my dad to hold onto for a year as a repair fund.   If my car needs repairs over the next year, then it will come out of that 25%.  When a year passes, whatever money (if any) is left in the repair fund (the 25%) my dad will return to his friend who's selling the car.   PRAISE GOD!!!!

So, if I were to assume the car will need at least the 25% in repairs over the next year, then the owner is basically selling me the car for 75% of my low offer.  That 75% is nearly a third of what he was originally thinking of and nearly half of the book value.    God is Good!!!!  Isaiah 30:18d says,"Blessed are all who wait on him [God]!"  Had I tried to get one of those more expensive echo's, I would not of received the blessing God has now offered me.  At the time the cheaper echo seemed like a huge blessing from God, but I would of missed out on an even greater blessing had I not waited.  Now God is blessing me with new resources for financial help.  I still am shy of the amount that I offered for the car, but I know that God will bring it in somehow.  He will provide!

    1. You may disapprove (& if so, I can park back by the barn or on the road) but it's not an echo... nor is it a Toyota (sadly). It's a 2004 VW Passat TDI Diesel with more than 250k miles. It can get more than 40mpg where as my echo only got around 35mpg.
