So there I was, supervising a handful of kids of various ages. One little girl (kindergarten) comes up and asks me if she can use the washroom.... for the second time.... in a half an hour.... without drinking anything. I hesitate and suggest she can wait since she just went.
5 minutes later she approaches me again. "Can I use the washroom now?" she asked. With a sigh I told her to go ahead. . . .
Many minutes down the road, say 15-30 minutes, I was finishing going through a series of one-after-another parent coming to pick up their child. I checked my list of kids again and noticed with a sudden heart stop, "I'm missing someone!" I search the room frantically before I remember that she was in the washroom. I quickly knock on the door and ask her if she can hurry up. No response. I knock again. No response. I cautiously open the bathroom door and peek in. No one is there. ???? I make a quick trip down the hall and into the next door room to see if she decided to sneak away. Not finding anything I think to check in the bathroom. I open the bathroom door in this classroom (same bathroom, different door/room) and what do I see? There back under the sink I find her. . . fast asleep. Sigh, at last my heart starts pounding again. (this whole rush was less than a minute, but it sure seemed a lot longer than that in the moment). We walked back into the classroom and she went and finished her nap on the beanbag. :)
I love what I do! I love working with kids! Even in the nearly heart-stopping moments, they often surprise you with a smile to your heart.

Glad you found her! I was getting nervous for you as I read the post!
